The Grandparent Gift That Isn't Another Toy
Give grandparents their grandchild's drawings in a real hardcover book, not another toy. You choose the pages. Join the list at everdoodle.co.
Grandparents do not need another toy that vanishes under the couch. They need proof of the year: the dinosaur with seven legs, the family portrait with spaghetti arms, the card that says "I lov you" in glue.
A kids art book is the grandparent gift that stays on *their* shelf.
Why toys lose and art wins
Toys are easy to buy and easy to forget. Art is specific. It is dated by the way a child drew faces that month. When you hand a grandparent a book of those pages, you are not handing "content." You are handing time.
This gift works for birthdays, holidays, Mother's Day or Father's Day for grandparents, and "just because we finally sorted the pile."
Who buys, who receives
You (the parent or guardian) photograph and choose the pages. Your child is the artist on the page, not a user of the product. Grandparents receive the printed book. They do not need a kid login.
If a relative wants to help, keep it clean: you pick the pages, they enjoy the book. No child accounts. No "let the kids upload."
How the keepsake gift path works
- Snap drawings through the season as they come home.
- Save them in your private folder.
- Pick the batch that feels like "this year."
- When books open, print a hardcover and wrap it.
We are building a few cover moods (classic, gallery, crayon). They are looks of the same heirloom book, not three products to decode under the tree. One book. The pages are the point.
Try this at home
- Start photographing now, even if print is later. December-you will thank September-you.
- Ask grandparents which fridge pieces they already loved. Include those.
- Write a one-line note in the wrap: year + child's name. Keep it plain.
- Do not wait for "enough masterpieces." A short book of real pages beats a fat book of filler.
